My card today started with the challenge of building a scene as the focus of the card. I was instantly drawn to my new Altenew “Versatile Vases 2” stamp set to accomplish this. I love this set. The vases in this set are large enough to either stand alone on a card or to hold many of the amazing flowers created using Altenew stamps. I wanted to create a grouping of vases with one or two vases holding flowers. When I embossed the Vellum card stock, fussy cut the vases, and put them in the gathering I liked, it just felt like they were missing something. I used my Copic C markers to color in the back of the vellum attempting to give the vases some shape and shadow. I love the effect. I will give you a warning though: Copic markers on Vellum card stock can easily get streaky. Play around with it before attempting to use on your final piece. Next time I am going to use my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to shade in the Vellum…

The two vases with water and flowers are popped up. The flowers are also popped up and embellished with the diamond embellishments. The background is created with the Altenew Dainty Swiss Dots stamp: the whole stamp is inked with Altenew Citrus Burst Crisp Dye Ink, then the 4 corners are inked in the darker Altenew Honey Drizzle Crisp Dye Ink to frame the vases.

I just love the final product. I hope you do as well. Try your different inks and coloring tools to get different effects on the vellum vases. I hope this inspires you to get out that wonderful Altenew Versatile Vases 2 stamp set and play.

Thanks for visiting again…
